Deleting a Contact

There are multiple ways to delete a Contact. Use either of the methods available below.

Method 1:

  1. From the Home, Client Management, or Portfolio Management tabs, click the Activities page and go to Contacts on the left hand panel.

  2. Select the contact to be deleted by placing a check mark in the corresponding box.

  3. From the menu above the grid, click the black X to delete the selected contact.

  4. Only a few contacts can be selected at once with this option, so we recommend using Method 2 if deleting multiple contacts.

Method 2:

  1. From the Client Management tab, click the Contacts page.

  2. Select the contact to be deleted by placing a check mark in the corresponding box.

  3. From the menu above the grid, use the Action drop-down menu and select Edit, Delete.

Note: When a client is deleted from Morningstar Office, the contacts associated with the client remain in the system. To easily find contacts that are no longer attached to an existing client/prospect, sort the ‘Member of Client/Prospect’ column in the Contacts grid and look for contacts that have a blank space in that field. Any contacts that are not attached to a client/prospect and are no longer needed in the database, can be deleted.
