Exporting Data from Fidelity Streetscape

Overview

This topic explains how to export data from Fidelity Streetscape. After you export your data, you will be ready to import it into Morningstar Office. Once imported, you will be able to perform portfolio reporting, portfolio accounting, and billing for your clients and accounts.

What is the process for exporting data?

Before importing client data into Morningstar Office, you must export your data from Fidelity Streetscape. You need to do the following:

    1. Create a profile for exporting data from Fidelity Streetscape.

    2. Export historical data from Fidelity Streetscape. You can export up to 120 days of history.

How often should I export data?

It is strongly recommended that you export from your custodian on a daily basis. This ensures that daily fixed income prices (or other prices not supplied by Morningstar) will be imported.

What file types do I need from Fidelity?

When downloading files from Fidelity Streetscape, you will receive file types as shown in the following table:

All files from Fidelity can be downloaded to one main folder to import from.

How do I export data from Fidelity Streetscape?

To manually export data from Fidelity Streetscape, do the following:

    1. Log in to Fidelity Streetscape using the User ID and PIN provided by Fidelity.

    2. From the Trade menu on the Streetscape Home Page, select Fee-Based Tools.

    3. From the Fee-Based Tools page, click on the Imports and Exports menu.

    4. Hover over Export to view the sub-menu.

    5. From the Export sub-menu, select Standard Format B to open the wizard.

    6. From the Enter Criteria step, ensure that all Export Types are checked.

    7. In the Export Data Using drop-down field, Account Number appears as the default. This is the correct setting.

    8. Enter an Export Name of your choosing.

    9. Click Next to move to the Choose Filter step.

Note: Depending on the browser you choose, the Next button may not be visible. If the Next button is not visible, click <ENTER> on your keyboard.

    1. From the top section of the Choose Filter step, select your Group. This defaults to ALL; however, if you set up a Group within Streetscape it will also appear.

    1. From the middle section of the Choose Filter step, select your Filters. For each field, the default is No Filter. This is the correct setting.

    2. From the bottom section of the Choose Filter step, select from the following two options for your initial setup:

      • To export all files currently available within Streetscape, select New Since Last Import.

      • If you want to choose your start date, select Transaction Date. From there, enter your start date in the From field and your end date in the To field.

    1. For Ongoing Import, be sure to select New Since Last Import.

    2. Click Next to move to the Create File step.

    3. From the Create File screen, select Create Files on Demand.

    4. Click Next to move to the Verify step.

    5. From the Verify step, review all fields for accuracy. This is a recap of the previous three steps in the wizard.

    1. Click Submit. A confirmation message opens.

    2. To view the files immediately, click Run Export Now on the confirmation message. This brings you back to the Streetscape Fee-Based Tools page.

    1. From the Streetscape Fee-Based Tools page, select Imports & Exports, Import/Export Status. The Import/Export Status window opens.

    2. Be sure you are on the Export Status tab.

    3. Under the Action column, click the Download File link for each row that appears.

How do I verify the files I downloaded?

To verify that the files you downloaded are complete, do the following:

    1. In Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder where your Streetscape files are stored.

    2. Verify that each folder contains the proper files based on the file type table.

Now that you have exported your data from Fidelity Streetscape, you are ready to import it into Morningstar Office.
