Morningstar Office is designed to help you work efficiently and is divided into five core areas:
Home
Home provides an overview of your practice, with links to your clients, prospects, and appointments. Home always displays current market data, the top securities that you’re using, and alerts notifying you of changes that affect your clients’ investments.
Client Management
The Client Management tab is built around an easy-to-use relationship management system to track tasks, set up appointments, monitor progress, and more. Use Client Management to manage prospect and client data, alerts, mail merges, and client-level reports.
Portfolio Management
The Portfolio Management tab is where you can access account-level data across your entire practice.
Investment Planning
On the Investment Planning tab, you can create custom investment plans for your clients, generate planning reports, and access model portfolios, asset allocations, and market assumptions.
Workspace
The Workspace tab is where your saved search criteria and investment lists reside. You can also access custom benchmarks, model portfolios, asset allocations, market assumptions, and defined contribution plans.
Research
Morningstar’s analytic capabilities converge in the Research section. Here you can identify and compare investments, find similar funds, perform deep holdings-level analysis, build illustrative graphs, and more.
Reports
The Reports section is the tracking and reporting hub of Morningstar Office. Maintain an archive of reports, monitor proposals you’ve prepared, sort your clients by assets under management, and quickly identify the best- or worst- performing securities across your clients’ portfolios.
General Navigation
To move among the five core areas, simply click the area names in the left-hand navigation pane. Within each, use the left-hand tree to use the different capabilities of that area. You can also use the Go menu on the main menu bar.
