Portfolio Reporting

New Time Weighted Return Calculation Diagnostic Report Now Available.

This new excel report provides users who run reports using the Time Weighted Return methodology with the raw data used to calculate returns to diagnose reporting and billing errors.

 Information used in this report includes the following:

This report can be run for Clients, Groups or Individual Accounts. When run for Clients and Groups, you can choose to aggregate or segregate accounts.  You also have the option to select Net of Fees or Gross of Fees.

Global Cash Flow Report has been Enhanced

Top Tool Bar > Reports > Management Reports > Global Cash Flows

This report has been enhanced to provide more detailed information when tracking cash flow management. New report options include the following:

After you click OK, the report will be run on a server and will be available within the Reports page under the Reports tab. (See New Workflow for Management Report Generation.)

New Workflow for Management Report Generation

The Global Cash Flows report will now be run on Morningstar servers, rather than generated on the fly. When you run the report, you will receive a message alerting you that the reports are being generated. Once complete, you will be able to view the report from the Reports page under the Reports tab.

Imported Return Data now used in select Standard Reports and Report Studio components.

Report Studio > New Template/Saved Template

Imported portfolio valuation data will now be considered when calculating portfolio or aggregation data for a select group of Standard Reports and Report Studio components. Prior to this, imported data was only calculated for performance data.

Website Now included on Cover page for PMS Reports

You can now include your Web sites on the cover page for all PMS reports. To include a Web site, update the information from the User profile located under the File menu on the Top Tool bar.

Morningstar Office has enhanced the Send us Feedback tool. This improvement will allow us to collect more detailed information about client questions, which will improve the response time and quality of responses. Please note:  for privacy concerns, reports will not be accepted as an attachment.

Investment Planning

Changes to the Income section in Investment Planning

When using the Investment Planning tool, the income section has been changed to be more precise in its calculations. The Employment Income field is now broken into to fields:
