Editing a quick account

To add holdings to a quick account:

  1. In the left navigation pane, click Portfolio Management. The Portfolio Management tab opens.

  2. In the left-hand column, click Accounts. The Accounts spreadsheet opens.

  3. Double-click the account to which you want to add holdings. The account opens and defaults to the Holdings Summary screen. All the holdings are listed.

  4. From the Action Shortcuts tool bar, click . The Holdings Entry screen opens.

  5. Choose the type of holding you want to add, then click the appropriate tab. Stock/Fund is the default tab.

  6. You can enter assets one-at-a-time directly on the screen.
    or

    You can enter multiple holdings at once.

  1. Click . The Add Holdings dialog opens. Find and select the desired holdings and click OK. You return to the Holdings Entry dialog.

  2. Click Enter By to select if you are going to enter holdings by share or dollar amount. The default is Shares.

  3. Fill in the holdings spreadsheet with Number of Shares or  Amount ($), and Price ($). (If Morningstar tracks the holding, the price field will auto-populate.)

  4. When you are done adding holdings, click . You are taken back to Holdings Summary, which includes the new holdings.

To delete holdings from a quick account:

  1. In the left navigation pane, click Portfolio Management. The Portfolio Management tab opens.

  2. In the left-hand column, click Accounts. The Accounts spreadsheet opens.

  3. Click on the account you want to delete holdings from. The account opens and defaults to the Holdings Summary screen. All the holdings are listed.

  4. Select the holdings you want to delete by checking the box located to the left of the holding name.

  5. From the Action menu, click Delete. A message will appear asking you to confirm that you do want to delete the selected holdings. Click OK. The holdings are deleted.

Tip: You can also delete holdings from the Holdings Entry screen. Select the holdings you want to delete by checking the box to the left of the holding name. From the Action menu, click Delete Rows. The holdings are deleted.
