Setting a default benchmark

Set a default benchmark for your practice.

1. From the global Tools menu, point to Settings, then click Set Default Benchmark. The Select user benchmark dialog opens.

2. In the Default Benchmark box, click the magnifying glass icon. The Select Benchmark dialog box opens.

3. Click the Within arrow to choose the index type you want. Choices include research universes, categories, objectives, custom benchmarks, and indexes.

4. Click the Find By arrow to select either Name or Ticker (if applicable).

5. In the Find box, type the name or ticker and click Go. Matching items appear in the Available Records box.

6. Highlight your desired benchmark. You may only select one.

7. Click OK. You return to the Select user benchmark dialog.

8. Click OK. The selected benchmark is now the default benchmark for your entire practice.

Note: Default user benchmark does not apply to hypothetical illustrations.
