Constraints

On this screen, you can specify the minimum and maximum allocations for each asset class, between 0% and 100%. Be careful, though. If you overconstrain the asset classes (by making the Minimum and Maximum ranges too narrow), the Efficient Frontier might not generate.

To set the constraints, do the following:

  1. Enter minimum and maximum allocation amounts for each of the 14 asset classes.

  2. To enter constraints by group, click the Type drop-down and select Group.

Note: You can view a different set of constraints by clicking the Select drop-down and clicking on the name of the constraints you want to see.

  1. When creating a group constraint, enter minimum and maximum values for U.S. Equity, Non-U.S. Equity, and Fixed Income.

  2. To reset the values to the original amounts, click Reset.

  3. To clear all constraints (all minimum holdings will read 0.00), click Clear Constraints.

  4. To name your constraints or set them as the default, click Save.

  5. To manage your constraints preferences, click Manage Constraints.

  6. When you are done, click Next.
