Creating a Model Asset Allocation

  1. There are multiple ways to start the process of creating a Model Asset Allocation. Use any of the methods available below.

    1. From the top menu, select New, Asset Allocation, or

    2. From the Investment Planning or Workspace tab, select Asset Allocations. From the toolbar above the grid, click New. The Asset Allocation Profile dialog box opens.

  2. In the Model Name box, enter a name for the asset allocation model.

  3. You can choose to create a model for use with Investment Planning or Portfolio Accounts and Reports. To create an asset allocation to use in Investment Planning, click the Market Assumptions radio button, and choose a market assumption. To create an asset allocation to use in Portfolio account and reports, click the Reporting Asset Class Set radio button, and choose a reporting asset class set.

  4. In the Allocation (%) boxes, assign percentages for the desired asset classes. The total percentage must equal 100%.

  5. In the Tolerance (%) boxes, enter maximum tolerance percentages for the asset classes. This is optional.

  6. Click OK to save the model asset allocation.
