Add Rebalance

Morningstar Office will automatically rebalance your transactional accounts for you.

  1. In the Rebalance name box, type an identifying name for the rebalance. This is how this rebalance will be listed in the Rebalance tab spreadsheet.

  2. Click the Rebalance frequency arrow to select the frequency of which you want Morningstar Office to apply the rebalance. Select from: Once, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi Annually, Annually, or None.

  3. In the Start date line, type in a start date for this rebalance. Use the MM/DD/YYYY format. If you want to specify an end date, type it in the End date line. If you want to rebalance this account indefinitely, leave the End date line blank.

  4. Each holding is listed in the grid, with its current dollar balance and percentage weighting. In the New % column, type the desired rebalanced weighting of each holding. Total percentage must equal 100. (Tip: Click Equal Weight to distribute the percentage allocation evenly amongst all holdings.)

  5. Click Save. You will return to the Rebalance tab and this rebalance will appear in the spreadsheet.
