Security Type Dialog Box: Basic Tab

All fields in blue are required.

  1. In the Security type code box, enter the code that represents the security type. It must be unique within an entity that shares the security definition, like an office. Limit 10 characters.

  2. In the Type Description box, enter the description of this type. Limit 60 characters.

  3. Click the Security Category arrow to select the category type of the security. Choose from Bond, Cash, Equity, Derivative, Managed Account, and Other.

  4. Click the Income Type arrow to select the income source of this type of security. Choose from Dividend, Interest, or None.

  5. Click the Income Currency arrow to select the currency type of the income.

  6. Check the Reinvest Dividends box to indicate that this type of security allows dividend reinvestments. Default is unchecked.

  7. Click the Trading Type arrow to select how this type of security is traded. Choose from Buy/Sell and Deposit/Withdrawal.

  8. In the Default Settlement date box, enter in the number of days between the trade date and the settlement date. Default is 3.

  9. In the Quantity Precision box, enter the decimal places for number of shares in transaction. The default is 4. (You can enter an integer between 0 and 6.)

  10. Check the Matures/Expires box to indicate that this type of security has a maturity or expiration date. Default is unchecked.

  11. Check the Forward Contract box to indicate whether this type of security is forward contract or not. Default is unchecked.

  12. If you have selected an Income Type (in step 4), then click on the Income tab to enter income data. (If you have selected None as your Income Type, then the Income tab is disabled.)

  13. To save this security type and enter a new one, click . To save this security type and close the dialog box, click .
