An Advanced Search on Managed Investments, Open End Funds, Stocks, VA/VL Policies or Subaccounts, Closed-End Funds, College Savings Plans, ETFs, Separate Accounts/CITs, Indexes, Insurance Product Funds, Money Market Funds, Unit Investment Trusts, Bonds, and Category Average funds can be run from the Workspace tab or from the main menu under New, Basic Search.
To access this function from the Workspace tab:
Go to the Search Criteria section.
Click on Morningstar Search Criteria.
From the toolbar above the grid, select New, Advanced Search. Select the investment universe to begin the search.
To access this function from the Main menu:
From the main menu, select New, Advanced Search. Select the investment universe to begin the search.
You can adjust the following options:
Click in the Field Name box in the first row. Click on the + next to a category to display the data points. Note: If you prefer to look for a data point by name rather than by category, click Alphabetically under the View Field Name option located below the grid.
Click in the Operator and Value columns to set values related to your data point.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 to further define the search criteria (click in the Field Name for each row to select an item.)
Click Run Search. The number of Items Searched and Items Found matching your criteria are displayed next to the Run Search button.
If no items are found, check the box next to a row’s number, then click Delete on the Search dialog box to remove that line. Continue to do this until the system can find an item to match your criteria.
Click OK to view the search results in the spreadsheet.
