Assigning Allocations and Attaching Portfolios for Goal-based Plan

You can use up to 10 model asset allocations for goal-based planning and attach one or more model portfolios to each allocation. The holdings in the model portfolios can then be included as security recommendations in the Investment Policy with Recommendations (IRR) report.

To attach model portfolios to asset allocations:

  1. Identify the asset allocation that you want to attach portfolios to. In the corresponding Attached Model Portfolio Name column, click the magnifying glass icon. The Find Model Portfolio box will appear.

  2. To remove the portfolios currently associated to this asset allocation, click in the Selected Records area. The current portfolios will be removed.

  3. Find the model portfolios you want. Click OK.

  4. The Attached Model Portfolio Name column will be populated with the name of the selected portfolio(s).

To remove an asset allocation:

  1. Select the asset allocation you want to remove from the goal-based options by clicking the box to the left of the name.

  2. Click Remove. The asset allocation is removed and will not be considered in the planning forecast.

To add an asset allocation:

  1. Click the Assign Allocation button. The Find Asset Allocation box appears.

  2. Find one or more asset allocations that you want to use in the efficient frontier. Click OK.

  3. The selected asset allocations will appear in the Asset Allocation Name column.
