Upload Document Dialog Box

From this window, you can upload multiple documents and assign each document to multiple clients. To upload documents from your PC to Morningstar Office, do the following:

  1. On the toolbar, click Add Files. The Choose file dialog box opens.

  2. Navigate to the file you want to upload from your local network, then click Open.  

Note: Supported file formats include .doc, .xls, .ppt, generic text documents saved as .txt or graphical formats .pdf, .jpg, .gif, or .bmp.

  1. You are returned to the upload dialog, where the document title and format automatically populate.

  2. Click the Client drop-down. All your clients are displayed. Check the boxes for the desired clients. To select all clients, check Select All.

Note: After selecting recipients, if you want to view only those clients you have selected, check the Show Selected Items box. To return to a full client list, you can un-check the box.

  1. The Account field is optional. If you want the name of a specific account displayed for the document in the Reports grid, click the Account drop-down and click on the desired account.

  2. The Note field is optional. If you want a note to appear for this document in the Reports grid, click in the Note text box and enter your description.

  3. Repeat steps 1-8 for each document you want to upload.

Note: You have two options for uploading documents:

You can use the check boxes to specify which documents you want to upload and which you want to upload and post

  1. Check the box(es) next to the document(s) you want to upload only to Morningstar Office.

  2. Click Upload.

  3. A message appears, warning that only the selected document(s) will be uploaded. Click OK.

  4. A confirmation message appears. Click OK.

  5. Check the box(es) next to the document(s) you want to upload to Morningstar Office and post to the Client Web Portal.

  6. Click Upload and Post.

  7. A message appears, warning that only the selected document(s) will be uploaded. Click OK.

  8. A confirmation message appears. Click OK.

You can now view the document in the Reports area of the client record(s) and on the Reports page under the Reports tab.
