A fund’s style box can change over time, perhaps because of a manager change or strategy change, or because of the effect of market forces on a portfolio’s price ratios. Thus, we provide the fund’s Investment Style history (found above the Growth of $10,000 graph on the Investment Detail report) to give you an idea of how a fund’s investment style has varied.
The investment style of the fund is as of the end of each calendar year. If you are viewing partial-year information (for example, you’re looking in the 2004 column in February 2004), then the style box will reflect the most-recent month-end.
The number listed below each style box is the number of funds in the same style box as of the end of each calendar year. For example, if there are 231 funds in the 2001 column, and the style box is listed as large growth, this means that as of December 31, 2001 there were 231 funds with large-growth equity style boxes.
