In this tab, you can enter subsequent investment amounts and add one-time or systematic transfers from one investment to another.
Add/View Transfer Button - Click the button to add or view transfers from one investment to another within the illustration time period.
From/To
Click in the transfer From column to select the investment from which you want to withdraw.
Click in the transfer To column to choose a security to which you want to invest.
Type - Use the drop-down menu to select the type of transfer to apply to your holding. Cash-system: systematic cash transfer, Cash 1 Time: One time, lump sum cash transfer, Distributions: all distributions, Cap Gain Dists: capital gain distributions only, or Income Dists: income distributions only.
Frequency - Use the drop-down menu to select the frequency at which transfers are made in the portfolio. Options are Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annually, or Annually.
Amount/Type - Type the amount of the investment to withdraw/deposit. In the Type area, select to make the transfer in percentage for, or in currency amounts (as determined by the Currency menu on the Buy tab).
Start/End Date - type the start and end date for the transfer. The start date cannot precede the inception date of the holding or the earliest price Morningstar has on record for the holding.
Charge Fees - Select whether you want to apply deduction from an investment upon purchase or sale. These charges may include front-end loads, deferred loads, commissions, and redemption fees.
Remove - Click the X in the Remove column to delete the transfer.
Grid Columns
Note: To remove an item from the grid view, right-click on the line item and select Delete. If you delete an investment by mistake, or if you change your mind after deleting it, you can always re-add it from the Investments tab.
Using Apply to All - This feature allows you to apply the same input for an entire column of securities. Type or select the value you would like to apply to an entire column in the row marked Apply to All (located at the top of the list of securities).
List Order - To reorder items in the list, click in the List Order column and enter a new number, then press Enter.
Subsequent Invest/Withdraw
Type
Invest - Places the same dollar amount of money in an investment on a regular basis. Reflects currency amounts or shares, depending on your choice of Allocate by menu on the Buy tab.
Withdraw - Removes money from an investment on a regular basis. Reflects currency amounts or shares, depending on your choice in the Allocate by menu on the Buy tab.
Withdraw % - Makes the systematic withdrawal by percentage.
Custom - This option gives you the flexibility to make customized, month-by-month investments and withdrawals to the security. Note: This option can only be selected by using the drop-down menu at the individual holding level.
When this option is selected, a new screen becomes available for customizing transactions for this investment. Enter the values in the applicable fields under the Add Systematic Transaction section and then click the Update Grid button. You can also type values directly into the grid for complete customization. Click OK to accept your changes and return to the Advanced Buy/Sell tab.
Amount - type an amount for your systematic investment or withdrawal. It is invested or removed on a regular basis according to your choice in the Frequency and Month End fields.
Frequency / Mth End - Your selection in the Frequency field affects the Month End field. For example, if you choose Monthly as your Frequency, your only choice in the Month End field is Month 1. However, if you select Quarterly for the Frequency, the Month End field presents Month 1, 2, and 3 for choices. If you selected Month 2, that would mean the first systematic investment occurs two months after the initial lump sum investment and then every quarter (or three months) thereafter. If you selected Semi-Annually as the Frequency, the Month End field presents choices of Month 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. If you then select Month 6, the investment will happen twice a year in June and December.
Upward Adjustment
Amount - Type an amount for your upward adjustment. The adjustment will be made on a regular basis if you make selections in the Frequency and Month End fields.
Type - Select whether to enter by currency amount or percentage.

However, if you select Quarterly for the Frequency, the Month End field presents Month 1, 2, and 3 for choices. If you selected Semi-Annually as the Frequency, the Month End field presents choices of Month 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Liquidate on End Date - Use the drop-down menu to select Yes or No to simulate liquidating the holding as of the end date (set on the Buy tab).
