On this screen, define which investments to include in your final hypothetical illustration.
Select Universe
Click the Select Universe drop-down menu to choose from the available universe tables.
Search By
Common ways of searching for investments are available. These options will vary based on the universe you selected.
Find/Exact Match
To find a security by name or ticker, leave Find selected. This option does not require you to enter the exact name for a security but you must enter the full ticker symbol.
Type at least four characters to find the search text somewhere in the security's name. If you type three or fewer characters, the system will look only for items beginning with your search string.
To look for an item whose name or ticker symbol exactly matches what you enter, select Exact Match from the drop-down field. This can speed the search process, since the system will look only for what you enter and not consider all possible matches.
Click the magnifying glass icon to start the search. The results that match your search appear in the Total Search Results list box.
Import
Click the Import button to import a list of tickers.
You can manually enter up to 40 security symbols separated by a comma, or copy/paste a column of data from a spreadsheet into the dialog box. To include dollar amounts for the securities when entering manually, place a space after the ticker and type the dollar amount followed by a comma. You can also paste two columns of data from a spreadsheet.
Click OK and the security names appear in the Total Search Results box. To confirm or add investment amounts, click the Buy tab.
Total Search Results
This box contains the investments that match your search.
Add/Add All
To add investments from the Total Results list to your hypothetical illustration, select them in the list, then click Add. If you want to add all the investments in the list, click Add All.
Investments Selected
These are the investments you have selected to include in your hypothetical illustration.
Note: If you are generating a Comparison Hypothetical Illustration with more than five securities, the returns graph will be a column graph displaying the highest returning security, the median of the securities and the lowest returning security for each time period. If you have five or less securities, it will be a standard line graph.
Remove/Remove All
If there are any investments in the Investments Selected list that you do not want to include in the hypothetical illustration, highlight them and then click Remove. To remove all investments from the list, click Remove All.
