Custodian Templates
Morningstar Direct now offers the ability for you to import your custodian position data on an ongoing basis.
You must obtain a daily position file from your custodian in a flat file format (.txt, .seq, etc.). Click on the magnifying glass icon and enter the file path to your daily position file in the File Name window.
The Custodian list box lists the custodians that we currently support. Simply select the custodian that corresponds to your position file. If you do not see your custodian listed, please contact your local Morningstar Direct team, and an internal associate will be able to create a new template for you as soon as possible. New templates will not require a Morningstar Direct software update. They will be available to you immediately upon creation of the custodian template.
Click OK to initiate the import process.
Once the import process is complete, you will be able to confirm and edit your data in a temporary import blotter area. You may receive warning and/or error messages in the import blotters that require your attention and resolution. After you are comfortable with the imported data, click the Post button to save your data.
