Aggregates

An aggregate is a portfolio of investments or indexes created by assigning a weight to each investment.

4Creating an aggregate

1. Go to Workspace, and then click Aggregates.

2. On the Action bar, click New.

3. In the Aggregate Basics dialog, name the aggregate, select the base currency for the aggregate, and select the benchmark for the aggregate (will automatically populate the Portfolio Aggregation report). You can also select a second benchmark and risk free proxy, and alter the default rebalancing frequency and performance calculation start date. You may also enter a Portfolio ID and investment strategy. Click Save.

4. In the Portfolio Date dialog select the portfolio date. Click OK.

5. In the Holding Entry dialog enter the holdings and their weights respectively. Click Finish.

� Name: enter the aggregate's name

� Currency: select aggregate's base currency

� Benchmark: select benchmark 1 for the aggregate

� Secondary benchmark: select benchmark 2 for the aggregate

� Risk free proxy: select aggregate's risk free proxy

� Portfolio ID: enter aggregate's portfolio Id to be used in portfolio data import

� Rebalancing frequency: select value from Monthly, Daily, Quarterly, Semi-annually, Annually, and Buy and Hold

� Performance start date: select value from First Aggregate Portfolio Date, Earliest Available, and Earliest Common.

Earliest Available: The earliest return date we have available for any holding. Morningstar has information dating back to inception for most mutual funds, and has pre-inception pricing for many VA subaccounts. You cannot calculate performances before this date.

Earliest Common: The first date that all the holdings have inception dates. For example, if Holding A began in 1985-01-01 and Holding B began in 1990-04-01, the earliest common date is 1990-04-01.

First Aggregate Portfolio Date: The first portfolio date of the aggregate.

4Holdings Entry dialog

Select the tab that houses your desired holdings. The list of tabs and the holding types offered:

� Stock Universe, ETF Universe, Closed-end Fund Universe, Mutual Fund Universe, Variable Annuity Universe, Variable Life Universe, Separate Accounts Universe, List

� Cash and cash equivalents

Notes:

� The default entry method is percentage. Assign weights to the members of your aggregate by typing values into the percent column. To equate the weights, click Apply All->Equal Weight.  You can choose to enter by Shares or by Amount from the Enter By Action menu.

� For most investments, you can use the magnifying glass icon to search for your holding symbol.

� If you have a multi-asset portfolio, simply switch from tab to tab to enter all of your holdings. When you are done entering all of your holdings, click Finish at the bottom of the screen.

4New portfolio for aggregate

� Select new portfolio date.

� Select how you would like to create a new portfolio: Create Blank Portfolio or Create Based on Selected Portfolio. If Create Based on Selected Portfolio is chosen, select an existing portfolio date to be used to pre-fill with the holdings for the new portfolio.

� Click OK
