There may be times when you need to find transactions for a certain security or a certain transaction globally, throughout your practice. Listed below are example scenarios where you may need to use this utility.
Find certain transactions that span across many accounts.
Edit or Delete certain transactions that span across many accounts. Note: You can only edit one transaction at a time.
Export to Excel transactions that span across many accounts. This is usually done if large amounts of transactions need altered and it is easiest to alter the transactions in Excel, delete them out of the program, and re-import them via Microsoft Excel – Transactions.
Determine whether a security, possibly one that is not actively held, has historical transactions. This is helpful if doing a security merge or replacement and you want to know what transactions/accounts will be affected.
To access this utility, go to the top menu toolbar and select Tools, Find, and then Find Transactions. Refer to the See Also link for instructions on using this utility.
