There are multiple ways to start the process of creating a Custom Benchmark. Use any of the methods available below.
From the top menu, select New, Benchmark, or
From the Workspace tab, select Benchmarks. From the toolbar above the grid, click New. The Custom Benchmark dialog box opens.
In the Benchmark Name box, enter a name for the new custom benchmark.
Click the Benchmark Type drop-down and select Simple Blended Benchmark or Simple Staged Benchmark. Click here for more information on custom benchmark types.
Note: If you choose Simple Staged Benchmark, you will be able to add, edit or remove historical portfolios using the Edit button on the Holdings Summary screen.
Click Next. The Holdings Entry box opens.
In the Symbol and Name columns, enter the ticker or the name of the holdings you want to add to the custom benchmark. Or, click Add Multiple to add several holdings at once.
In the Weight % column, assign holding allocation percentages. Total Weight must equal 100%. If you want to assign equal weighting to each holding, simply click Equal Weight.
Click Recalculate. The pie chart, style boxes, and stock sector data is filled in according to the weights allocated.
Click Finish. The custom benchmark is saved and listed in the Benchmarks grid.
