In this dialog box, you can add reports to a template and set global report settings. To customize individual report settings and override the global settings, double-click the name of a report in the list.
To set up a template, do the following:
In the Template Name box, enter the name for this template.
Select the reports you want to include in this template. In the Batch Inclusions and Report Template windows, click on a report name and then click the right arrow button. The selected report name will move to your final list in the window on the right.
The Batch Inclusions window contains the list of all available standard reports.
The Report Template window contains any custom reports you have created and saved using Report Studio.
To include an external document you have uploaded into Morningstar Office, click the Add uploaded file in batch button. A window opens, displaying all saved reports and uploaded documents. Check the box next to the document you wish to include and click Insert and Close. Your document will be added to your final list in the window to the right.
To adjust the order of a report within your final list, click on the report name within your final list and then click the up arrow button.
Note: Please be aware that the order you specify in your list will not necessarily be reflected in your final batch reports. Your reports will be ordered according to the rules explained here.
To customize the dates to be used in your reports, enter a start date and end date to set the date range used for performance calculations. Enter an as-of date to select the date to be used in analytical reports.
Select Use account inception date as start date to select inception as the start date for all reports in your batch (This will override the state date you chose in Report Date Range)
Select Re-set all report dates to follow date range of template to set all report dates to follow the date range established in Report Date Range. (This will override report dates manually changed in Batch Selections.
Click the Roll drop-down menus and select whether to roll your dates forward each time a batch is generated, or whether to use your selected dates each time. If you select Do Not Roll, the date range currently selected will be used each time your batch is run, until you manually update your dates. If you select Use schedule frequency, your report dates will automatically roll forward by the frequency (quarterly, annually, etc.) selected in your Batch Schedule.
Finally, make any desired customizations to your reports. Click on a report within your final list and then click Edit. A dialog box will open. Note that any customizations that you make to report dates in this dialog box will override the date settings you applied in steps 5 and 6 above.
When you are finished creating your batch template, click Save/Exit. Before you can generate your batch reports, you must create a Batch Schedule. To begin, click Schedules in the main left-hand navigation pane.
